Merit Badge Worksheets

Here are the links to the merit badge worksheets we discussed at our last Troop meeting on November 7th. Many of you have already met some of the requirements for these merit badges in your daily life. I encourage you to print these worksheets and complete the remainder of the activities to earn the merit badge. It might be easier than you think!

We also discussed an upcoming merit badge workshop to complete the Eagle required Family Life Merit badge. A link for that worksheet is also below. Look closely at requirement 3. You must track and complete five chores for a total of 90 days. Please think about this now and start making progress toward completing this requirement.

Pictures from the Odum Day Hike

We had a great hike on Saturday along the Pinhoti and Odum trails along Mount Cheaha and through the Talladega National Forest. A big thank you to Mr. Dolensky for leading this group and showing us all the sites! The weather was beautiful and it was a good time.

Snapshots from the event have been added to the Troop 23 website. You can view all the photos and download any that you like. If you took any pictures, you can also add those to our gallery through Shutterfly.

Thanks to all the Scouts that participated and especially Scout parents Mrs. Lindsey, Mr. Carlson and Mr. Caufield who gave up their Saturday to shuttle vans and make the trip possible. It was a great trip!

January Ski Trip Planning Underway
Sign Up Now!

We are planning our ski trip as announced at the last meeting for January 13th thru 16th. This is Martin Luther King Holiday weekend (No school on Monday the 16th).

We will be going to Beech Mountain, North Carolina and staying in a large lodge/inn which can accommodate a pretty large group. This is only 7 min from the slopes. We plan on skiing both Saturday and Sunday. I estimate this trip will cost less than $250 a person. That includes lodging three nights, ski lift tickets and rentals for two days. That is an inexpensive ski trip!

If you would like to go or need additional information, please email Jim Kent.
